There is a rather large thread (right here) about the best game ever made in general. I thought this was a little broad, so how about the best RPG ever made?

I honestly have to say CasinoRPG as well, there is nothing else like it and I have easily spent more time on this game already then all the others I have played/tried, I think that says something right there ;) LONG LIVE CASINORPG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Treasures of the Savage Frontier.
But this was the first of the SSI games I played. I liked playing all those AD&D games they created.

The Diablo series. I still go back to all of them when I get bored of the newer stuff

Baldur's Gate. Hands down my favorite RPG ever and definitely in my top 5 favorite games ever. Lots of memorable characters and dialogue. Great strategic combat, and cooperative multiplayer too. Only criticism I have is that the old AD&D rules were a little clunky in places (particularly the way dual-classing worked, and AC and THACO seemed backwards compared to 3e) but it was still a great game.

Enjoy the present and don't worry about the future, as in It's a beautiful day, so forget tomorrow's test—carpe diem! Latin for “seize the day,” an aphorism found in the Roman writer Horace's Odes, this phrase has been used in English since the early 1800s.

I've played so many RPGs and have many favorites. Right now I would say Tomb Raider and Shadow of Mordor are the top 2 on my list (PlayStation 4)

Would of said casinorpg but with all the new changes you've now destroyed this game! so I guess none now. There are better games out there.

@aims74 I don't want to divert the thread from this wonderful topic, but I am interested to hear your complaints about the game, as I think it's just gotten a lot better. Send me a PM if you want to talk about it.

Diablo, back in the day was my favorite. But Balders gate ranked way way up there as well.
